Papers of Rita Napier
This collection consists of copies of government and other publications and unpublished materials, family history materials, newsletters, and photocopies of historical documents, all materials gathered in Rita Napier's study of history, particularly the history of Native Americans and the state of Kansas. The materials are organized by when received from Napier at the Spencer Research Library.
Papers of the New England Emigrant Aid Company
This collection consists of microfilmed copies of the official records and correspondence of the New England Emigrant Aid Company, an organization founded to help individuals from the northeastern United States move to the newly opened Kansas territory in order to help the territory become a free state rather than a slaveholding state.
Paramount Club Records
This collection contains meeting minutes, 1944-1975, correspondence and bank statements, 1970s, miscellaneous memorabilia from the 1940s and 1970s, and a certificate of lifetime membership awarded to the club by the NAACP in 1961.

Records of the Pierian Club
The Pierian Club was organized in 1894 by Mrs. D.F. Rivers of Kansas City, Kansas and was one of the first African American literary clubs in the area. This collection of Pierian Club records contains club histories, financial and miscellaneous records, meeting minutes, yearbooks, photographs, a 50th anniversary scrapbook from 1944, and a videotape of the club's centennial celebration in 1994.

Samuel M. Strickler collection
Samuel Strickler was Brigadier General of the Kansas Militia in the early 1860s during the United States' Civil War. Most of this collection pertains to organizing militia companies in Kansas; there are also two photographs in the collection.
Samuel Walker correspondence
This collection consists of a photocopy of a single letter from Samuel Walker to his mother, dated August 20, 1856. The letter includes details about Walker's involvement in and injuries sustained at the Battle of Fort Titus on August 16, 1856.
Scrapbook of Kansas news items
Margaret Thompson Henderson was born in Parsons, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence in 1905. Her 91-page scrapbook of news clippings from the early 1900s chronicles notable people, places and events in the history of Kansas, the Lawrence community, and the University of Kansas. Included are published poems, biographies, and obituaries of famous Kansans.

Senator Fred Kerr collection
S.H. Thompson family papers
Dr. S.H. Thompson, Sr. was a founder of Douglass Hospital, a facility in Kansas City, Kansas that practiced equal access and care to all patients and hired medical personnel without regard to race or ethnicity. His son, S.H. Thompson, Jr., served as principal of Sumner High School (Kansas City, Kansas) from 1951-1972. The collection includes papers and photographs of both S.H. Thompson, Jr. and Sr., as well as material from other family members.
Signal Oak photograph
This collection consists of a single photograph of the "Signal Oak," a tree north of Baldwin, Kansas on the Barricklaw farm used to hang signal lanterns in times of danger in the Big Hill and Blue Mound areas during the Border Wars between Kansas and Missouri. S.C. Barricklaw is also featured in the photograph, and there is a news clipping associated with the image.

The bulk of the collection relates to W.C. Simons, founder of the Lawrence Journal-World newspaper of Lawrence, Kansas.

Relates experiences with John Brown at the Battle of Black Jack and other events from May to August of 1856 including disbanding the Free State Legislature on July 4. A short character sketch of Roe is included.
